Our Story
In 2014, Virtual Freelancers Asia was established by Dana Lopez, who initially started selling online courses on how to become a virtual assistant, based on her own personal experiences. Dana’s professional journey began as a BPO agent, where she gradually worked her way up to become a Senior Operational Manager in a BPO company located in Pasig. However, after the birth of her youngest child, she made a conscious decision not to go back to the BPO industry and instead focus on her family at home. At that time, she also wanted to assist her husband, Dolf, with their family’s income. So, she began selling pre-owned goods on popular websites like Sulit.com and OLX.ph, and even organized garage sales at home. It was during this period that she discovered how to work as a virtual assistant and operate her business from home. She began acquiring clients from different platforms, such as UpWork/Odesk, and even had direct clients. Through this, she acquired extensive knowledge about virtual assistant jobs and compiled it into a book, which she sold online. However, despite providing all the necessary information, many of Dana’s book consumers were still unable to obtain clients and provide their services based on what they had learned from the book.
This led Dana and Dolf to have a vision of assisting virtual assistants by transforming VFA from a firm that sells online courses to a staffing company. They recruited an exceptional marketing team to interview and hire multiple clients that they can cater to their virtual assistants. With that, Virtual Freelancer Asia became a staffing company that many people now love. VFA’s first clients were located in Alaska, but with God’s grace, VFA currently caters to all clients in the United States, including US Territories. VFA’s vision is “To be the best virtual assistant house in the Philippines and the US”. VFA is tremendously performing this vision through its mission “To hire and build real rockstar VA’s”.
